The Chris Cook Band plays energetic and boisterous rock ‘n’ roll, a mixture of slow and steady old time dances and fast and furious country, alternate country and rockabilly. A great night to dance and get down a boogie with the music.
Chris Cook is an enthusiastic and engaging performer with over 30 years of experience whose infectious vitality, distinctive and inimitable style and musical competence ensure an entertaining and enjoyable performance (which has been likened at times to an express train). He is backed by John Tester on double bass and electric bass and Jamie Cantwellon drums and percussion, and this combination presents a high energy performance, interesting variations of familiar tunes with tight harmonies delivered at sensible sound levels.
Australian audiences know this music and they like it.
The Chris Cook Band crosses the “age specific” entertainment barrier. They play on a regular basis to audiences of different ages. A regular weekend’s work often involves playing at a Services Club, a pub popular with young overseas backpackers and a private wedding or birthday party – three completely different venues and types of audience. Chris possesses an almost uncanny ability to play the most appropriate music to suit his audience.
This increasingly popular band fronted by charismatic namesake Chris Cook who plays energetic country guitar, skillful and toe-tapping fiddle and highly polished bluegrass/hillbilly banjo, caters with the professional skill of many years experience for audiences of all ages – playing a mixture of slow and steady old time dances, energetic and boisterous rock ‘n roll and fast and furious country rock/alt country/rockabilly.
